Full paper guidelines

Guidelines for Full Conference Papers for submission no later than 15th October 2004

1.  Papers must not exceed 14 pages in A4 format (all margins 2.50 cm), including figures, references and appendices.

2.  Papers should be sent in RTF format using Arial font 10 for the main text and single line spacing.

3.  Please insert page numbers at the bottom middle of the page in the same font but do not use headers and footers.

4.  Do not use multiple columns.

5.  The title of the paper should be in 16pt bold, left aligned.

6.  The names of the authors (Last name preceding first name or initials), name of institution(s) and email address for each author should be in 12pt not bold, left aligned. Please do not quote degrees, titles and appointments of authors.

7.  A short abstract should follow of no more than 5 lines in 9pt.

8.  Include up to 6 key words

9.  There should be no more than three levels of heading and the styles Heading 1, Heading 2 and Heading 3 should be used with the numbering style of:

 1Heading 1 (14 pt bold)

1.1  Heading 2 (12 pt bold)

1.1.1  Heading 3 (10 pt bold/italic)

10.  You can use bulleted or numbered lists in the standard style with respect to the fonts described above.

11. Figures and tables should be placed as close to their reference point in the text as possible. All figures and tables must have titles and must be referenced from within the text. Avoid colour diagrams as the papers and proceedings will be printed in black and white.

12.  Avoid the use of footnotes and no endnotes.

13.  References in the text should be in the format (Bloggs 2004) and should then be listed at the end of the paper as per the following examples:

  • Bloggs, J. (2004) ePortfolios for idiots, Publisher, Sheffield, pp24-28.
  • Bloggs, J. (2001) "Recording achievement using ePortfolios", Journal of eLearning, Vol 1, No.1, pp1-4.

14. Before submitting your paper please ensure that it has been carefully read and reviewed for typographical and grammatical errors. If English is not your first language, please try to have it proof-read by an English speaking person.

NB:  A short biography of up to 50 words of the presenting author(s) should have already been provided, with a photograph
