Electronic portfolios would appear to offer great potential for both language learning and assessment, yet few published articles appear in the literature. In this presentation, English e-portfolios developed in-house for a specific course are described in terms of rationale, use, assessment, and student feedback. This is followed by a focus on the new context of e-portfolios created by Hong Kong academic initiatives and specific University developments.
