Introduction

Cet atelier TELCERT d'un journée accueilli par EIfEL et soutenu par Anema est une occasion unique de découvrir les outils, la théorie et la pratique qui assureront l'interopérabilité future des systèmes d'information pour l'enseignement et l'apprentissage.

L'interopérabilité, c'est elle qui assure que tous les composants élémentaires d'un environnement d'apprentissage fonctionnent ensemble et fonctionnent avec les systèmes externes, est une issue critique pour les organismes du monde de l'éducation et de la formation, les sociétés et les services publics. Par exemple, bien que toutes les universités doivent fournir les suppléments européens au diplôme (EDS) à leurs étudiants d'ici 2005, la pleine capacité de l'EDS ne sera seulement réalisé que quand tous les systèmes d'information d'université pourront échanger des suppléments au diplôme 'compatibles' et 'intéroperables' pour assurer la pleine transparence et la transférabilité des qualifications.

Jusqu'ici, il y avait très peu de solutions disponibles pour s'assurer que les systèmes étaient conformes aux normes et aux spécifications - par exemple SCORM pour l'interopérabilité de contenu avec la plate-forme ADL. Il n'y avait pas une méthode générale pour prévoir et assurer la conformité des composants de e-learning avec des normes.

Pendant cet atelier vous explorerez les problématiques liées à l'interopérabilité et aux tests de conformité des environnements eLearning.

This one day TELCERT workshop hosted by EIfEL and supported by Anema is a unique opportunity to discover the tools, theory and practice that will insure future interoperability of learning information systems.

Interoperability, that is making sure that all the elementary components of a learning environment work together and operate with external systems is a critical issue for educational and training organisations, corporations and public authorities. For example, although all universities will have to provide European Diploma Supplements (EDS) to their students by 2005, yet the full potential of the EDS will only be realised when all university information systems will be able to exchange ‘compatible' and ‘interoperable' diploma supplements to insure full transparency and transferability of qualifications.

Until now, there were very few solutions available for making sure that systems were conform to public standards and specifications – e.g. SCORM for contents interoperability. There was not a general method for predicting and insuring conformance of e-learning components with standards.

During this workshop you will explore the issues linked to interoperability and conformance testing of eLearning environments.

L'objectif de l'atelier de TELCERT à Paris est de :

1.        présenter l'état de l'art des méthodologies et outils soutenant l'interopérabilité, le profilage d'application, le test de conformité, etc...

2.        démontrer l'application de ces méthodes et outils avec des exemples concrets de contenu et d'un éclairage particulier sur le supplément européen de diplôme (EDS)

3.        établir une communauté des décisionnaires et des professionnels impliqués dans l'exécution des normes et standards du e-Learning pour partager des méthodes, des outils et les meilleures pratiques.

The objective of the TELCERT-Paris workshop is to:

1.        present state of the art methodologies and tools supporting interoperability, application profiling, conformance testing, etc.

2.        demonstrate the application of those methods and tools with concrete examples of contents and a special focus on the European Diploma supplement (EDS)

3.        build a community of policy makers and professionals involved in the implementation of the eLearning standards to share methods, tools and best practice

Le développement de profils applicatifs européens (basés sur les spécifications et les standards internationaux) est une méthode pour exprimer les besoins d'une communauté spécifique dans un format qui deviendra un point de référence pour l'établissement ultérieur de tests de conformité.

Pendant le déroulement de cet atelier, il sera proposé d'étudier conjointement les usages et la méthodologie de création d'un ensemble d'applications profiles déjà développés dans le cadre du projet TELCERT, ainsi que les conditions nécessaires à leur mise en place pour la communauté francophone :

§    UFI - LearnDirect : Content Packaging

§    Open University Netherlands: Learning Design

§    Université Koblenz-Landau  : Content Packaging et EDS (version allemande)

§    EIfEL : EDS (version française)

§    CETIS : EDS (version anglaise)

EPICC (European Portfolio Initiatives Coordination Committee) présentera un exemple d'Application Profile de ePortfolio développé en partenariat avec EIfEL, European-IMS, European Schoolnet et CETIS.

Les spécifications de référence utilisées seront IMS CP (Content Packaging), IMS MD (Metadata), IMS LD (Learning Design), IMS-LIP (Learner Information Package) et IMS eP (ePortfolio).

The development of European Application Profiles, based on international specifications and standards, is a method to express the needs of a specific community in a format that will become a reference point for the establishment of future conformance tests

During the workshop, we will study the methodology and practice for the creation of a set of applications profile already developed within the framework of the TELCERT project, as well as the conditions necessary for their implementation for the French-speaking community:

§   University  Koblenz-Landau: Content Packaging and EDS ( German version)

§   EIfEL: EDS ( French version)

§   CETIS: EDS ( English version)

EPICC (European Portfolio Initiatives Coordination Committee) will present an example of an ePortfolio Application Profile developed in coordination with European partners such as EIfEL, European IMS, European Schoolnet and CETIS.

Reference specifications will be IMS CP (Content Packaging), IMS MD (Metadata), IMS LD ( Learning Design), IMS-LIP ( Learner Information Package) and IMS eP ( ePortfolio ).

Pre-requisite

Aucun pré-requis. Une bonne compréhension des enjeux de l'intéropérabilité et des standards du eLearning et une connaissance des notions techniques de base relatives aux spécifications seront cependant préférables. Les présentations et discussions se dérouleront en anglais.

There are no pre-requisite. A good understanding of the stakes in the interoperability  and in the standards of the eLearning and a knowledge of the technical basic notions relative to the specifications will be however preferable. The presentations and the discussions will take place in English.
